Looking for a free newborn booties crochet pattern? Most patterns are too large for brand-new feet, but these are specifically scaled for a better newborn fit. This project is a perfect scrap-buster; I used leftover Chroma yarn from another pattern, but any worsted weight yarn works beautifully for these crochet newborn slippers
These easy crochet booties for newborn babies takes about 20 minutes to make. Whether you need a quick baby shower gift or a fast make for craft sales, the Clara Newborn Booties are simple to crochet and easy to customize with bows or buttons.

Tips for Success
- Consistent Tension: Complete both crochet newborn slippers in one sitting to ensure that they are identical in size.
- Yarn Memory: Use a yarn that will maintain its shape on the foot like a wool or acrylic blend.
- Tight Joins: Pull your slip stitches tight at the end of each round to create a nearly invisible seam at the heel.
Pattern Alterations
- Custom Sizing: If your newborn booties are too small with your tension, try increasing your hook size for a better fit.
- Create a Cuff: For a more boot like look rather than a slipper, you can add an additional few rounds of SC at the end of the pattern to create a taller boot.
- Adding Embellishments: You can easily customize this free newborn booties crochet pattern by attaching a small bow or flower to the toe.
