Simple Velvet Scrunchie – Free Crochet Pattern

Do your little ones like to claim your crochet makes for themselves? My daughter is famous for it! I was playing around with some Bernat Velvet yarn and whipped up this cute little scrunchie. She spotted it on my desk and has been wearing it on her wrist every day since! I think I’ll let her get away with it this time!

ABBREVIATIONS

st = stitch
sl st = slip stitch
ch = chain
DC = double crochet
SC = single crochet

NOTES

• Checking your gauge is not required for this pattern.

• This pattern is worked around an elastic hair tie. The exact number of stitches will vary based on the hair tie that you use.

PATTERN

R1: SC around an elastic hair tie.

R2: Ch 3 (counts as DC), DC in first st. 2 DC in each st around. Join with a sl st to beginning.

Cut yarn, fasten off, and weave in ends.
