Witch Costume for Byron Bear – Free Crochet Pattern

*** This is a free crochet pattern add-on to my Byron Bear pattern. You can find the original crochet pattern here on my blog for free! An ad-free, formatted PDF version of the original pattern is also available for purchase here:

Byron Bear is one of my most favorite pattern designs, and I’ve really wanted to create some add on options for him! I’m so pleased to share my first of hopefully many outfits for Byron, a witch costume for Halloween!

If you haven’t made Byron yet, you can find the free pattern here. You can also grab the ad-free PDF on Ravelry or Etsy. The best part about Byron – he’s nearly no sew!

I used WeCrochet’s Provincial Tweed yarn for Byron, and WeCrochet’s Brava for his costume.

Don’t forget to save this pattern in your favorites and add it to your project queue to save it for later! View this pattern on Ravelry here.

I would classify Byron Bear as “advanced beginner”. It would be helpful to have had some experience with amigurumi before creating this project. Byron’s accessories are an “easy” level project.

I’d love to see what you make with this tutorial! Don’t forget to share a photo of your finished work in your Ravelry projects and my Facebook group!

NOTES

  • Checking your gauge is not required for this pattern. Use a hook that is smaller than the size recommended for your yarn weight. This will ensure that your stuffing will not show through the stitches.
  • Hat is worked in the round. Use a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of each round.
  • *Note that the yarn I used for the Byron Bear pattern is slightly thinner than a typical medium (4) weight yarn; therefore, if using an alternative, be aware that you will likely need to increase your hook size when making accessories.
