This granny square wall hanging was so much fun to design! This was a commissioned design for WeCrochet’s festival collection.

This is one of my favorite designs ever! Who doesn’t love granny squares, and when I had the opportunity to create a wall hanging, I thought there was no better way to use them!
About This Project
I designed this granny square wall hanging for a submission call from WeCrochet. This submission call had several theme options with mood boards for inspiration.
The finished granny square wall hanging design is approximately 18” wide x 9” tall (not including the tassels).
As this design was one that was required to fit a theme, I looked to the design call and mood boards for inspiration. There was a granny square curtain on one of the mood boards, which is what got me thinking about unique ways to use granny squares.
I wanted my granny square wall hanging to be colorful, but not chaotic. I think that white being the main color really helps to achieve this.
This is one of my all time favorite designs. I’m so proud of it and I love how colorful it is! My granny square wall hanging is hanging in my office right now!
There will several different yarn options to choose for this project. I actually submitted my design idea with the intention of using Brava Worsted yarn. However, the yarn was changed to Dishie cotton yarn. This yarn works great for home decor, and has great color choices.
WeCrochet uses sample makers to work up the pattern design in their specified colors. I designed this project and made it in the colors that I preferred, and I keep my finished project. WeCrochet has their sample maker follow the pattern and create the project that is featured in their collection.
