Luisa Doll – Free Crochet Pattern

My entire household has been obsessed with the new movie, Encanto! My son’s favorite character is Luisa – because she carries all the donkeys of course! He has been carrying around his little Luisa toy from a happy meal that he had a few weeks ago, and even sleeping with it! That’s when I knew it was time for me to make him a cuddlier version of our friend Luisa!

I used WeCrochet / Knit Picks Brava Worsted yarn to create Luisa. The best part about this pattern is that the entire body is no sew! The only sewing required in the entire pattern is actually just for the hair!

Don’t forget to save this pattern in your favorites and add it to your project queue to save it for later! View this pattern on Ravelry here.

I would classify this pattern as “intermediate”. It would be ideal to have amigurumi experience before starting this pattern.

Please note that, unlike all of my other patterns, this one has not been tested. While I strive for accuracy in all of my work, I, like Luisa, am imperfect. If you see a mistake or typo, feel free to reach out and let me know!

I’d love to see what you make with this tutorial! Don’t forget to share a photo of your finished work in your Ravelry projects and my Facebook group!

NOTES

  • Checking your gauge is not required for this pattern. Use a hook that is smaller than the size recommended for your yarn weight. This will ensure that your stuffing will not show through the stitches.
  • This pattern requires minimal sewing. The legs, body, and head are all worked as one piece, and the arms are worked directly into the body as you work, rather than sewing later. The only sewing required is attaching the hair.
  • All pieces are worked in the round. Use a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of each round.
  • Legs, body, arms, and head all require full stuffing. Stuff as you work to ensure each piece is completely filled.
  • Note that when working the skirt, you will be working with your doll upside down so that the right side of your stitches will be facing out.
  • See tutorial photos.

  1. Row 7 of hair base only has 29 stitches. I think it needs another hdc where it says in next sts.
